A homeless man accused of attempting to abduct a seven-week-old baby at a popular Sydney beach last week allegedly told the child’s mother,”This is not your baby. Give it to me. I’m taking it.”
Court documents reveal the 31-year-old mother (unnamed) told authorities she was afraid 38-year-old Mr Ronnie Ramirez was going to “take her baby and kill him,” after the he attempted to snatch the child from Bronte Beach last Monday.
As Channel 7 reported at the time, the child was thankfully unharmed:
The Sydney Morning Herald reports, a police statement of facts delivered to Central Local Court describes how Ramirez attempted to snatch the boy, telling his mother, “This is not your baby. Give it to me. I’m taking it.”
According to the fact sheet, “The victim shouted, ‘Help, call the police.'”
Terrifyingly, the accused was also allegedly heard saying, “This will be his last thing to eat” and “This will be his last bread before he dies.”
