A woman has shared a Christmas lunch before and after that everyone can relate to.

From seafood and salad to a roast with all the trimmings, Christmas lunch is one meal of the year that it’s almost obligatory to go back for seconds (and thirds… and fourths). And that’s before the pavlova has even been decorated.

The result? A whole lot of babies – food babies, that is.

But if the warm and fuzzy haze of post-Christmas lunch has worn off, and you’re starting to feel a little guilty about how much you ate, positive body image ‘warrior’ Megan Jayne Crabbe has an important reminder for you.

Taking to Instagram, she shared two pictures of herself on Christmas Day taken just hours apart.

“To anyone currently feeling guilty about the amount of food in their stomach: it’s okay,” she captioned the photo.

“Tummies are supposed to grow and expand and let us experience all kinds of delicious moments. You are no less beautiful, valuable, or loveable whether you are full or empty.”

And rather than look at it with disgust or regret, give it some love.

“Be gentle, touch yourself kindly, appreciate the softness. And when the guilt creeps up, tell yourself that everything is okay, and that what you’ve eaten today doesn’t determine one single bit of how wonderful you are,” she continued.

“Merry Christmas my loves!”

Her post quickly struck a chord with many Christmas lunch lovers.

“Glad I’m not the only one who has this happen!! Thanks for the share,” one follower wrote, while another added, “Thank you so much. I really needed to read these words!”

We couldn’t agree more.

Time to give that food baby a hug.
