Jennifer Corbett-Cox is an inspiring person.

Not only does she have a natural talent for recreating landscapes with her paintbrush that seem as if a rainbow is bleeding colours to the soil, she has already proven that she can overcome adversity in her 30 years of living.

The artist developed a disability in her mid-twenties and it was this that really inspired her to work hard and achieve her creative goals. Now? She is both an art teacher and a professional artist, whose work is sold around the world.

And for good reason.

Jennifer spoke to me about the creative process behind her work, saying that experimentation is at the forefront of her mind every time.

“When creating my art I like to experiment with different mediums and techniques,” she said.

“I use many different mediums either individually or within a mix media piece.  I have a loose style when painting or drawing, similar in style to that of the Impressionist painters. The subjects of my artwork focuses mainly on landscapes and city scapes, still life, flora and fauna and pets.”

And as for her inspiration? She lives in Tasmania and says she is constantly inspired by the hidden beauty there.

“This inspiration has led to the ‘A Tour of Tasmania’ collection, which encompasses imagery from all over Tasmania and is continuing to grow as I find new places to draw,” Jennifer said.
