Love is in the air this fine morning, because it seems Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau have made things official.

The pop star and former Canadian Prime Minister have stepped out hand in hand for their first public date night.

According to TMZ, the pair celebrated Perry's 41st birthday with a cabaret show at the Crazy Horse Paris on Saturday night.

Video of the couple shows a fan giving the singer a red rose and wishing her happy birthday, as Trudeau smiles beside her while holding her hand.

It comes after the pair were spotted kissing and cuddling aboard a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara earlier this month, confirming the rumours of their romance weren't just fan fiction written by the internet.

Perry and Trudeau were photographed embracing, laughing, and — yes — full-blown making out on deck.

Trudeau, 53, and Perry, 41, are both newly single and both seemingly unbothered by the fact that the entire world is watching.

Whether this is a full-blown love story or just a summer-romance-turned-global-headline, one thing's certain: the internet's favourite unlikely couple is officially... a thing.

It's the latest chapter in the celeb saga that started months ago — and if you're wondering how a divorced world leader and a divorced pop star went from polite acquaintances to seaside PDA… I have answers.

A timeline of Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau's dating rumours.

Katy Perry rose to global stardom with chart-topping hits. She married British comedian Russell Brand in 2010, though they divorced a little over a year later.

She met British actor Orlando Bloom in 2016. The two got engaged on Valentine's Day 2019, welcomed a daughter named Daisy in 2020, but then had to delay their wedding due to the pandemic.

In June, after nine years together, Perry and Bloom officially ended their engagement. After weeks of speculation, the couple issued a statement confirming the news.

"Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting," the duo's representative told PEOPLE.

"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect."

Justin Trudeau married Sophie Grégoire in 2005. They became Canada's 'first couple' when Trudeau took office as Prime Minister in 2015.

Trudeau and his wife Sophie announced their separation in 2023, renewing interest in Justin in the public eye as he quickly became Canada's most popular bachelor.

In January of this year, Canada's hottest PM announced his intention to resign as Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party after nearly a decade in office. He made his official exit from the House of Commons on 10 March.

This brings us back to Perry and Trudeau, who are now single and fancy-free at the same time.

So umm, how on earth do these two know each other? Is Justin a Katy Kat? Or does Katy have a secret passion for Canadian politics?

Despite conflicting reports that these two met in their younger years, multiple outlets have reported that the unassuming pair only just met at an event this year and have remained in contact ever since.

Then on July 28, 2025, Katy and Justin went on a potential date in Montreal that spanned multiple hours and three locations. Oh my!

The date began at Mount Royal Park, where the two were spotted strolling together, accompanied by Katy's small dog.

During this first encounter, there is no evidence of any real romantic vibes going on between them, but TMZ snapped grainy photos of the two. The tabloid page claimed that Justin "could not stop grinning as he strolled with his A-list superstar companion."

The pair then went to dinner at Le Violon, one of Montreal's fanciest French bistros, managed by Chef Danny Smiles, who maintains that the two celebs were just enjoying a friendly meal.

"I didn't get any dating vibes from Katy and Justin… just two friends enjoying a meal," he told TMZ. Sure, Dan!

Perry and Trudeau arrived at 7pm and were seated together at a private table, but there were no signs of PDA between them.

A restaurant rep told PEOPLE that the pair "seemed to have had a fantastic evening."

According to Chef Smiles (lol), the pair enjoyed cocktails, tuna and tomatoes, beef tartare, lobster and asparagus, gnocchi and lamb, sharing several dishes from the tasting menu.

After their meal, Perry and Trudeau made a point to visit the kitchen to personally thank the staff for the evening.

But the night was not over. Closing out the evening, Perry and Trudeau moved to the rooftop terrace at Taverne Atlantic, a trendy spot popular for its cocktails and easygoing vibes. But again, no PDA, so the nature of their relationship remained a mystery.

A few nights later, Trudeau was spotted at the singer's sold-out Lifetimes Tour concert at Montreal's Bell Centre… and that's when romance rumours kicked into overdrive.

Trudeau was filmed enthusiastically singing along to Perry's hit songs 'Teenage Dream' and 'Firework'.

Fan videos and social media posts erupted with excitement as Trudeau was seen looking truly invested in Katy's performance. So there's that!

Just a few weeks later, though, it looked like the spark had fizzled — with a "source" telling Daily Mail that their busy schedules ("she's busy, he's busy") had put things on pause.

Cut to now, and it appears to be very much unpaused. The romance switch has been flicked firmly back to ON — and honestly? We love to see it.

While on stage in London during her Lifetimes tour earlier this month, Perry seemingly gave us a clue about her new romance.

She invited a fan on stage, who said, "I heard you're single" before revealing his sign which read, "Katy Perry will you marry me?"

"You heard I was single?" Perry quipped back. "That's interesting." Interesting, indeed!

Neither Trudeau nor Perry has publicly commented on their relationship status, but we're here for this random pairing.
