A full timeline of Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry's rumoured romance.

It's a tale as old as time. Boy meets girl, boy and girl go on a date, boy attends the stadium tour of girl, and the collective internet announces 'Oh, it's so on!'.

In this case, the 'boy' and girl' are recently divorced former Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, and recently single space girl/pop singer, Katy Perry.

The erotic fiction about the iconic pop star and the sexy Prime Minister practically writes itself, but I digress.

After a very fun week of speculation that these two were dating after they were spotted, well… kinda on a date, Trudeau just attended the singer's sold-out Lifetimes Tour concert at Montreal's Bell Centre.

He wasn't alone either — he brought along his 16-year-old daughter, Ella-Grace. The politician has been filmed from multiple angles at the show and in all of them, he's having the time of his goddamn life.

Trudeau was captured in a relaxed black T-shirt, grinning and singing along to Perry's biggest hits. He copped some damn good tickets too, as the handsome politician stood in the front row in a VIP area.

Dare I say, there were, ahem, fireworks in his eyes when he was gazing up at Miss Perry?

So how exactly did we get here? This is a full timeline of everything that's gone down in this unexpected rumoured romance.

Katy Perry rose to global stardom with chart-topping hits. She married British comedian Russell Brand in 2010, though they divorced a little over a year later.

She met British actor Orlando Bloom in 2016. The two got engaged on Valentine's Day 2019, welcomed a daughter named Daisy in 2020, but then had to delay their wedding due to the pandemic.

In June, after nine years together, Perry and Bloom officially ended their engagement. After weeks of speculation, the couple issued a statement confirming the news.

"Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting," the duo's representative told PEOPLE.

"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect."

Justin Trudeau married Sophie Grégoire in 2005. They became Canada's 'first couple' when Trudeau took office as Prime Minister in 2015.

Trudeau and his wife Sophie announced their separation in 2023, renewing interest in Justin in the public eye as he quickly became Canada's most popular bachelor.

In January of this year, Canada's hottest PM announced his intention to resign as Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party after nearly a decade in office. He made his official exit from the House of Commons on 10 March.

This brings us back to Perry and Trudeau, who are now single and fancy-free at the same time. Imagine that!

So umm, how on earth do these two know each other? Is Justin a Katy Kat? Or does Katy have a secret passion for Canadian politics?

Despite conflicting reports that these two met in their younger years, multiple outlets have reported that the unassuming pair only just met at an event this year and have remained in contact ever since.

Then on July 28, 2025, Katy and Justin went on a potential date in Montreal that spanned multiple hours and three locations. Oh my!

The date began at Mount Royal Park, where the two were spotted strolling together, accompanied by Katy's small dog.

During this first encounter, there is no evidence of any real romantic vibes going on between them, but TMZ snapped grainy photos of the two. The tabloid page claimed that Justin "could not stop grinning as he strolled with his A-list superstar companion."

The pair then went to dinner at Le Violon, one of Montreal's fanciest French bistros, managed by Chef Danny Smiles, who maintains that the two celebs were just enjoying a friendly meal.

"I didn't get any dating vibes from Katy and Justin… just two friends enjoying a meal," he told TMZ. Sure, Dan!

Perry and Trudeau arrived at 7pm and were seated together at a private table, but there were no signs of PDA between them.

A restaurant rep told PEOPLE that the pair "seemed to have had a fantastic evening."

According Chef Smiles (lol), the pair enjoyed cocktails, tuna and tomatoes, beef tartare, lobster and asparagus, gnocchi and lamb, sharing several dishes from the tasting menu.

After their meal, Perry and Trudeau made a point to visit the kitchen to personally thank the staff for the evening.

But the night was not over. Closing out the evening, Perry and Trudeau moved to the rooftop terrace at Taverne Atlantic, a trendy spot popular for its cocktails and easygoing vibes. But again, no PDA, so the nature of their relationship remains a mystery.

According to The Sun, the UK tabloid claims to have gotten the scoop from one of Trudeau's former associates. "Justin has been single for a while and has enjoyed getting to know her. He likes her personality, and they are two people who really enjoy chatting about different topics, and they click very well so far, as they are going to see each other again very soon."

Another source added, "He really enjoys to get to know her [sic] and to talk about many, many topics with her."

Lol okay!

This brings us back to what happened this week: shortly after their walk/dinner/drinks, Trudeau was seen attending Perry's Lifetimes concert in Montreal.

Trudeau was filmed enthusiastically singing along to Perry's hit songs 'Teenage Dream' and 'Firework'.

Fan videos and social media posts erupted with excitement as Trudeau was seen looking truly invested in Katy's performance. So there's that!

Of course, there could be hundreds of explanations for this random friendship. Maybe Justin wants to ask Katy if she met any E.T's in space? Perhaps Katy just really likes maple syrup and reckons he might have a hookup?

But one thing is for sure: if Katy and Justin are spotted together again, we will all be hearing about it.

And if they are dating — even casually — this is one hell of a divorce rebound story for both of them. This is how it's done, folks.
