While The Lodge had been widely speculated as the likely venue for months, the location was kept secret, ensuring a private celebration for the couple.

"We are absolutely delighted to share our love and commitment to spending our future lives together, in front of our family and closest friends," Albanese and Haydon said in a statement.

In a political year increasingly defined by protests and public disruptions, the Prime Minister fiercely protected their wedding as a rare, private moment entirely their own.

They ensured the celebration stayed free from political spectacle, with no world leaders, carefully managed media access, and a strict embargo on all photos until after the ceremony.

Who attended the PM's wedding?

The guest list was intentionally intimate, focusing heavily on family, including Albanese's son Nathan and Haydon's parents, Bill and Pauline.

Family members played key roles in the ceremony, with Haydon's brother Patrick and Albanese's cousin Helen Golden acting as the official witnesses.

In an adorable twist, the couple's dog Toto served as the official ring bearer.

Albanese and Haydon met at a public function in Melbourne. While Albanese was speaking at the event, Haydon — a proud South Sydney supporter — famously yelled out "Up the Rabbitohs!" in support of Albanese's beloved rugby league team.

She introduced herself afterwards and the two connected on social media.

How did Anthony Albanese propose to Jodie Haydon?

The PM proposed to Haydon on Valentine's Day in 2024. The engagement came after dinner at the popular Canberra restaurant Italian and Sons.
