'My career completely changed after having two daughters. Here’s a day in my life now.'

Anna Heinrich is someone you feel like you've known for 10 years. And in the minds of many Australians — we have.

The former criminal lawyer, married to Tim Robards, was first introduced to viewers in the inaugural season of The Bachelor a decade ago.

Anna and Tim wed in 2018 and have since welcomed two daughters: four-year-old Elle and one-year-old Ruby. Anna has since left law behind and shifted her career into wellness, co-founding Intu Wellness, launching a successful podcast and working in content creation focused on health, beauty and motherhood.

With so many balls in the air, Anna admitted she often feels like a "mess", trying to juggle the practical realities of having a career and being a mum to two young kids.

"I'm just trying to fit in everything and I feel like a little bit of a mess at the moment," she candidly told Mamamia.

"I don't think you can have that perfect balance on a daily basis. I don't think anyone can. There are days when my whole focus is on work and I'm not giving my kids the attention I would really like to give them," Anna continued.

"I then make a conscious effort to be like… 'I really need to focus on my kids today and give them what they need'. Even if it's 20 minutes."

Despite the challenges, Anna and her husband make time for each other. "Tim and I make sure that we either plan date nights — not every week — but we do try and make time for each other," she said.

That said, her life has dramatically changed from the couple's post-Bachelor carefree years to them welcoming two daughters.

"You pretty much start an entirely new life when you have kids, because everything that you once knew is sort of transformed or knocked on its head," she said.

As far as Anna's daily routine is concerned, this isn't a simple question to answer. "This is kind of a hard question for me because every single day looks different," she admitted.

"Yesterday I had to get up early because I was on morning TV. I was up, I was doing makeup, I had a coffee, no breakfast. It was like mayhem."

On a typical day, Anna wakes between 7am and 8am, has a coffee, jumps in the shower, brushes her teeth and gets dressed.

"Then I head down and I get my kids breakfast. It takes me almost an hour to have a coffee because I'm sorting my kids out: changing nappies, getting them dressed and it's pretty hectic every morning."

While doing this, she tries to start her work day.

"I check emails amongst that. Some days we drop Elle off at daycare. We have Ruby most days so she's with us and then we put her down at around 11am and that's our time to focus on work."

When lunch time comes, Anna tries to eat something healthy. "I used to be a bit more of a routine person [for lunches] but since I had kids, it's just whatever goes pretty much."

Anna is focused on work before Ruby stirs and she has to juggle work with mum duties. "It's kind of the juggle of me attempting to work as best I can with having a one-year-old basically on me. She's at the stage where she's a mummy's girl… as soon as I put her down she wants to be picked up again."

When she feels the need for a quick break, Anna enjoys unwinding with a can from Bundaberg's new Refreshingly Light drinks range.

"Nowadays, when I'm looking at products, I'm just more aware of what goes into them, what my body needs, what my body doesn't want," she said.

"Knowing that these are less than three grams of sugar per can — things like that actually excite me — and this drink is something you can enjoy any time of the day. For me, I want something in the afternoon when I crave something sweet but not too sweet, something with a good flavour."

"It's almost like my little afternoon pick me up but then at the same time great for any occasion as well."

The range comes in three unique flavours: Raspberry and Pomegranate, Apple and Lychee and Lemon and Watermelon.

"I don't really have a favourite because it depends on how I'm feeling in the day, but I think what's really good is that they are brewed using real fruit and that's super important because we love fruit in our family."

After Elle is picked up from daycare, the kids have dinner. "Our nighttime routine is a little bit full on: dinner, bath, shower, teeth, reading in bed and then we [Anna and Tim] sometimes have dinner really late," she said.

"If Tim's ever on cooking duties, there are times when I eat dinner at 9pm, it's so late… As soon as we put the kids down I'll be working up until about 10pm at night."

Amid all the madness, Anna still tries to make sure she's prioritising activities to fill her cup.

"When I get the opportunity I try to do a reformer class or go for a walk or I take time for myself," she said.

"If I've had the kids all morning up to a certain point, I'm like, 'Tim, it's your turn'. I pass the baton on."

Despite how hectic Anna's life can be, she knows she wouldn't have it any other way. "Look, it is harder [with kids], but at the same time you would never change it," she reflected.

"You absolutely adore your kids and you wouldn't change it for the world even though your life is different than what you're used to pre-kids."
