Anna Camp's coming out story will make you rethink everything you know about timing.

Anna Camp is the type of actress you've seen in countless movies and TV shows. You might not know her name, but you've definitely seen her face.

Best known for her role in Pitch Perfect opposite Anna Kendrick and starring in Netflix's final season of You, Camp made headlines in June when she hard-launched her new relationship with Los Angeles-based writer and stylist, Jade Whipkey.

Now, as a woman in her 40s, Anna has been refreshingly honest about her coming-out experience.

"The largest obstacle I faced this year personally was juggling the emotions about coming out in my 40s, which included guilt for not embracing it sooner and excitement for finally being free from the constraints that had been placed on me by society and my upbringing," she told Out magazine.

Although she admitted it wasn't easy, it was the help of her community that pushed her forward.

"I overcame it through support from my friends and family and through connecting with supportive members of the queer community."

Anna also opened up about finally becoming her true self and encouraged others that it's "never too late" to do so.

"I just want to share that it is never too late to evolve into your truest self," Anna said.

"Dismantling the mask of armour I had created for myself in order to navigate and survive taught me just that. I was merely surviving, not really living. And now I finally feel like I'm becoming the real Anna, thriving and alive."

Back in June, the couple made their red carpet debut for the Los Angeles premiere of Bride Hard — they were all smiles as they walked the carpet.

The appearance came a month after they confirmed their relationship.

In an Instagram Story, Anna was captured on a date night with Jade, who wrote, "Her smile is a poem, her eyes are roses, her laugh is music for dancing."

The couple's relationship first came to light in a February TikTok interview, where Camp, 42, said in a video featuring Whipkey, "I'm dating a woman, and it's great."

Whipkey echoed her sentiment, wrapping her arm around Camp and adding, "Yeah, same here."

The pair have been seen dressed up for a Renaissance fair, with Camp previously posting a sweet pic with Jade, captioning the moment, "My Lord, My love".

The couple's relationship appears to have grown out of a professional connection, as Whipkey is described as an on-set stylist, and potentially crossed paths with Camp through her work.

Jade Whipkey is a writer and stylist who has worked with huge names like Keke Palmer and Coco Jones.

Anna and Jade have reportedly been dating since at least early 2025, with their TikTok interview filmed in February and their social media soft-launch soon following.

The twosome joked about their worst date stories when interviewed for a TikTok with Mr Big USA.

"I left a date once because a guy was like 45 minutes late and I stayed and waited," Anna said. "Then he said that I was prettier in a movie than I was in person, because I'm an actor, and I was like, 'Okay, bye!'"

When Camp was asked what she expected from a guy on a first date, she casually replied, "I don't expect anything. Not anymore. Because I'm dating a woman, and it's great."

Anna Camp's love life has always been in the public eye.

She was first married to actor and star of Castle, Michael Mosley, from 2010 to 2013.

Shortly after her split from Mosely, she began dating her Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin. The pair met on the set of the first film, started dating in 2013, and married in September 2016.

However, after just over two years of marriage, Camp and Astin filed for divorce in April 2019, citing irreconcilable differences, and finalised their split in August that year.

Following her divorce from Astin, Camp reflected on the split in an interview.

"It's been really scary and liberating at the same time," she said while speaking with reporters at the Television Critics Association 2019 summer press tour.

"I feel more me than I ever have… It's a vulnerable place to be, but it's also very empowering. I feel really grounded. The decisions I've been making have been for the best."

In the years since her divorce, she reportedly dated drummer and documentary producer Michael Johnson from 2020 to 2024. Johnson referred to her as "the most beautiful life adventure partner" in a 2024 Instagram birthday tribute.

Anna's relationship with Jade reportedly began at the start of 2025.

In a February 2025 interview about her film One Night, Anna reflected on how her past experiences shaped who she is now.
