Welcome to Mamamia’s art endeavour, the Voulez-Vous Project. Every week we celebrate emerging artists, designers, illustrators, creators and women who knit using their vaginas. (Kidding. Maybe.)
Our aim: to help the internet become a slightly more beautiful, captivating, or thought-provoking place by making art accessible. To find out more about the Voulez-Vous project, click here. Click here to see all the previous Voulez-Vous posts.

Sometimes in life you just need a pop of colour.
And that’s exactley what this weeks feautured artist and designer on the Voulez Vous Peoject, Andrea Carew Reid does. She wants to make things that are “fun and quirky”, and boy has she achieved that.
Based in Western Australia, Carew Reid draws on everything from nature to Pinterest to inspire her. Her artworks are bright, fun, and extremley awesome. The kind of thing that you could hang anywhere in your house because they have so much vibrance.
Her homewares take quirky to a whole new level (in a good way), and after speaking to her, it’s obvious that she’s passionate about creating new and innovative pieces.
Just take a look:
When talking to Mamamia, Carew Reid said that she “loves the strong design elements such as bold patterns, shapes, lines and colours from places like Mexico, Morocco, India, Africa, and Indigenous Australia.”
“I am always coming up with new ideas from my work, I have no idea where they come from! Sometimes I wake up I the morning and I have dreamed an idea. I also love using Pinterest! I used to read a book at night before I went to bed, now I just scroll through a sea of images. There is so much I want to do, I write all my ideas down.”
Carew-Reid was so inspired that she launched an online art and homewares shop Reid and Crew, where she sells her work. “I just enjoy creating full stop, and I think by branching into homeware my art can reach more people.”
