The stars have already hit the red carpet for the 2013 American Music Awards, and the night is already looking to be a promising one.

Lady Gaga arrived on a horse (as you do) and just to mix things up, Miley Cyrus wore a relatively tame pantsuit that is kms away from the oufit she wore for her last red carpet appearance.

The AMAs night wasn’t without controversy: Katy Perry has been accused of racism after dressing as a geisha.

The singer dressed as a geisha during her tour of Japan but after wearing an almost identical costume during her performance of Unconditionally, the Twitttersphere went into meltdown accusing the 29-year-old of cultural misappropriation.

One tweeted: “This is the performance equivalent of an offensive Halloween costume,” another said, “Oh, good. Katy Perry is dressed as a geisha. I was afraid her sharp vocals would outshine her racism.”
