The risqué dress that saw a reality show judge receive over 200 complaints.

The family-friendly Britain’s Got Talent is usually a fairly uncontroversial affair but this week judge Amanda Holden caused a stir with a rather risqué wardrobe choice.

A whopping 216 people complained to the UK’s broadcasting watchdog Ofcom about the 46-year-old’s barely there ballgown, which plunged at the front, plunged at the back and didn’t leave a heap to the imagination.

It was sparkly though, which was nice.

Twitter erupted with furious commentary about the sequined number, which many labelled inappropriate for the show’s timeslot and intended audience (ie. families), with one saying the TV presenter was “effectively topless”.

Holden’s fellow judge David Williams also made a joke about it when members of female Welsh choir Angelicus Celtis were criticised for looking a tad lacklustre.

“None of you are wearing a really inappropriate low-cut top,” he said.

The Little Britain star also joked his colleague had been arrested for indecent exposure on his own Twitter account.

Funnily enough in a recent interview with The Sun On Sunday Holden had joked she hoped people would be complaining about her upcoming outfits.

“I haven’t done my job if they aren’t,” she said.

She also captioned a picture of herself in dress on her Instagram with a quote from Coco Chanel: “It is always better to be slightly under-dressed”

We’re not 100% that’s what the fashion icon had in mind, however.
