Natural products are having a moment.

Once upon a time, women would slather products all over their faces and bodies with gay abandon, with little thought to what was actually IN them.

But now, that’s all changed – because the latest beauty movement is natural and organic.

Here are just some of the reasons why The Glow’s resident beauty experts have jumped on the all-natural bandwagon.

1. Edwina Carr-Barraclough – The Glow editor.

She’s the editor for a good reason – because Carr-Barraclough knows her stuff.

And according to her, natural products just make sense.

“When it comes to slathering skin-saving products onto my face at night, I can’t go past something enriched with natural ingredients,” she says.

“Whether it’s jojoba oil, grape seed extract or rosehip oil, knowing exactly what’s going into the biggest organ in my body is important. It doesn’t hurt that they smell good, either.”

2. Carla GS – The Glow’s beauty editor.

Carla GS recently told Mamamia TV that natural beauty products were a clear trend right now.

“It’s actually one of the first things that women ask me when they find out I’m a beauty editor – they want to know, where can I find natural beauty products, do they actually work – and can I afford them?” she said.

“There are some incredible natural beauty products that you can buy in the supermarket, but it’s all to do with reading the ingredients list, and often I find that natural beauty products work a lot better than products that have a lot of synthetic materials.”

3. Kahla Preston – The Glow Associate Editor.

Preston has been working for The Glow for years, so it’s safe to say she’s kind of a pro when it comes to all things beauty.

She swears by beauty oils and always checks the label.

“A great way to embrace natural beauty products is through beauty oils. I’ve recently switched to cleansing oil, and although it seemed odd at first, it feels so gentle and nourishing on my skin,” she says.

“Generally speaking, I like being able to look at a product’s ingredients list and see words I actually recognise.”

4. Lizzie Marton – The Glow writer.

As someone with sensitive skin, Marton has learned the power of going natural.

“I have very sensitive skin, and I find that if I use any products that contain a lot of chemicals, it will flare up,” she says.

“So I find that natural products — from serums to my foundation — are much gentler, and much more flattering on my skin.”
