The podcast girlies are fighting.

Guess what? Alex Cooper and Alix Earle are reportedly in a fight. In other news: these women are not the same person.

Okay okay, I'm sure if you're a fan of either of these women and their wildly successful podcasts Call Her Daddy and Hot Mess, you will know these ladies are, indeed, not one person.

But for me (and I imagine, many others) who have only skimmed the surface of this corner of the internet, it must be said that these two blonde podcasters look almost identical.

So what is happening between these (definitely different) women??

Earle's Hot Mess podcast has been dropped by Cooper's Unwell Network aka they've had a podcast breakup.

This marks the end of their professional relationship amid rumours of a personal feud between the two influencers.

And the announcement was rather dramatic!

The Unwell Network, founded by Cooper and her husband Matt Kaplan, renounced all rights to Hot Mess, which means Earle is free to explore future opportunities.

The announcement notes that SiriusXM will no longer sell advertisements for the show.

Curiously, this split comes less than two years after their partnership began. Earle was one of the first talents to sign with the Unwell Network when it launched in August 2023.

When she was signed, Cooper said she was "honoured to be at a place in my career where I can pass along knowledge and advice for a new generation of creators to flourish."

Initially, the collaboration between the world's most influential podcaster and influencer showed promise, with both reaching top spots on Spotify's podcast rankings.

Cooper had previously praised Earle publicly, gushing at the TIME 100 event in October 2023: "She's a beast. She has a work ethic that I've never seen and I'm so proud of her."

However, signs of tension emerged in recent months. Fans noticed that Cooper had stopped promoting Hot Mess on social media. Then during Super Bowl weekend, Earle skipped an official Unwell party in New Orleans, despite being in town for the game.

Earle's father, Thomas 'TJ' Earle, revealed on a December 2024 podcast episode that he had confronted someone about "a business situation" that he "wasn't happy" about, but he didn't name anyone specifically.

According to sources cited by Us Weekly, the women clashed over business matters, with one insider claiming "Alix felt taken advantage of". Another source suggested Earle's father became more involved in her business decisions and "did not like what Unwell was doing".

Neither Cooper nor Earle has publicly addressed the situation, leaving fans to speculate about what exactly transpired between them.

It's unclear exactly what Alix's plans are for her successful podcast.

On February 26, 2025, she posted on Instagram, sharing thar she's been working with investors to raise money for a brand relaunch campaign.

There's also speculation in the industry about where Earle might take her podcast next.

Some social media users have suggested she could potentially join Barstool Sports, especially after Barstool founder Dave Portnoy posted what appeared to be a screenshot of a 22-minute phone conversation with Earle.

Portnoy hinted that "more information would follow," which of course, has fueled speculation of the network possibly hiring her.

This would be quite the scandalous move from Earle because Barstool is where Cooper got her start in podcasting. And her departure was messy.

Cooper and her former roommate Sofia Franklyn launched the Call Her Daddy podcast in 2018, which was acquired by Barstool Sports just one month after its first episode.

Under Barstool, Cooper and Franklyn signed a three-year contract with a base salary of $75,000. The podcast experienced explosive growth, with downloads increasing from 12,000 to 2 million in just two months.

But then sh*t hit the proverbial fan.

In 2020, Cooper and Franklyn entered a contract dispute with Barstool. After negotiations, Cooper decided to stay with Barstool but Franklyn left.

Cooper continued hosting Call Her Daddy solo for another year but ended her relationship with Barstool in 2021 when she signed a three-year exclusive deal with Spotify worth $60 million (which got bumped to $125 million with SiriusXM in 2024).

So yeah, there's A LOT of money on the table and Earle signing on with Barstool would be some real poetic justice if their rumoured feud proves to be true.

What's next for the Alexes?? Stay tuned.
