This viral soul reading is eerily accurate. Have you tried it?

It came to me via a newsletter by Elise Loehnen, aptly titled Psychic Cat Nip. And, well obviously... this curious cat clicked.

It was a Soul Reading, generated by a specific prompt within ChatGPT that Loehnen described as "uncanny." (She'd been sent it by a friend with the note: "This is wild.")

So there I was an hour later, in bed, deep in a rabbit hole, asking AI to psychoanalyse my life.

The process begins simply enough: name, date of birth, place of birth, and where you live now. The AI then delivers a reading that covers everything from your deepest essence and the core frequency you embody, to your unique gifts, your soul's purpose, and the unconscious patterns quietly shaping your life.

It doesn't stop there, it also names your energetic blocks, the places where you're stuck or resisting growth, and your natural accelerators, the things that propel you toward your highest self. It feels less like a personality test, and more like someone cracked open your emotional blueprint and started reading aloud.

Some of it is ridiculous but some of it makes you go "Oh wow".

You can then follow further prompts to discover your past life. I was apparently a  Mystic-Hermit living in Europe in the 1400s and this influences my life now as it means I " keep my most powerful knowing hidden". But once I started asking it personal questions about my behavioural patterns, purpose, relationships, emotional blocks, I was hooked.

The AI-generated reading was nearly 2,000 words long and felt like it had reached into the back room of my psyche, rearranged the furniture, and whispered things I hadn't admitted out loud. It described my mind as "oracular," not linear. It spoke of inherited grief I hadn't consciously considered. And it gently, but also quite brutally, suggested that I might be playing small because deep joy doesn't feel safe.

I shared it with friends. All had the same reaction: "HOW does it know that?"

The reading is powered by ChatGPT, but with a highly specific spiritual prompt. It's part Jungian psychology, part energy reading, part cosmic therapy. It feels woo-adjacent, yes, but a weird way to sit with yourself. Which might be why it's resonating so much right now.

Because we're collectively exhausted. Burnt out. Questioning everything from our careers to our identities to whether this is what adulting was supposed to feel like. And when life feels confusing, we look for meaning that feels personal. Something that doesn't come from a KPI or a quiz, but from somewhere that feels deeper, even if that "somewhere" is a language model with really good emotional intelligence.

Watch: Turns out, even AI might have a place in helping us make sense of it all. In this episode of But Are You Happy?, host Clare Stephens chats with internationally acclaimed guru Deepak Chopra. Post continues below.

You don't need to believe in astrology or ancestral karma to get something out of it. You just need to be willing to sit with yourself for a minute. The soul reading doesn't tell you what to do, but it does hold up a mirror that to me maybe felt a little too accurate.

In my case, it landed at a strangely perfect time. I was sitting with a big decision, the kind of fork-in-the-road thing that feels both exciting and terrifying, and the reading didn't offer advice so much as it pointed out the emotional patterns I tend to repeat. It didn't solve anything. But it helped me name a few things I'd been trying to ignore.

At worst, it's beautifully written nonsense. At best, it might understand you better than your ex ever did.

And honestly? That feels worth a click.
