'The $25 jeans I’ve been wearing non-stop that look and feel way more expensive.'

I have spent much of my adult life searching for the perfect pair of jeans.

One that hugs the right places but is baggy just where you want it. A pair you can dress up or feel comfy and cute in while relaxing at home.

And boy, is it a mission. Jeans shopping tends to be one of my least favourite activities (up there with packing away my washing and pretending I enjoy small talk with my Uber driver on my 5.30am commute).

I've always been a high-waisted, straight-leg jean kinda gal, but I've been on the hunt for an affordable pair of wide-leg jeans — the cool Pinterest girlies have convinced me, alright?

When one of my girlfriends came over the other week, wearing what appeared to be the perfect pair of high-waist, wide-leg jeans, I questioned her immediately.

They were cinched at the waist and wide enough that they looked effortlessly cool without making her look like she was swimming in denim (short people problems, am I right?).

The fit was giving expensive label vibes.

And where did she get these beautiful jeans? None other than Kmart.

Introducing the Kmart Wide Leg Jeans in Black.

These jeans come in sizes 6-20 and are also available in a light wash and mid wash. Oh, and they are only $25.

Honestly, I was bracing myself for at least $80. Obviously, I was at my local store the very next day snagging myself a pair.

The relaxed, full-length fit means they're long enough that they just touch the floor without you constantly stepping on them (at least for a 5'4" gal like me).

I grabbed a size up for a more oversized fit at the waist and have no notes.

For my shorter queens, you might want to budget for alterations. My five-foot friend had to get them hemmed to stop herself from tripping over.

Honestly, these are the exact silhouette and length I've been looking for — even better that they come with a price tag well within my budget.

They're perfect for dressing down with some sneakers and a simple tank top, or easy to elevate with a pair of ballet flats or slingback heels.

And most importantly, they're so comfy.

Consider me a wide-jeans convert. I'm already considering going back for the mid-wash pair.
