1. Jill Meagher’s killer Adrian Bayley is earning thousands in superannuation while he is in jail.
The killer, who used taxpayer-funded legal aid, has never been ordered to pay compensation to his victims.
His account earned more than $1300 between the end of December last year and June this year while he was in prison, The Herald Sun reports.
His legal bills would have been more than $100,000 during the proceedings, in which Bayley pleaded guilty to the murder and rape of Ms Meagher and went to trial on three separate rape charges.
Victims of Crime Commissioner Greg Davies said it is 'common sense' that this money should be taken from Bayley.
"He (Bayley) should do what he has never done in his life and pay his way in society. On any common sense grounds he should not be able to retain that money," he said.
“It should go towards his legal costs, which were paid by the taxpayer, or be distributed to his victims.’’
