'I found the perfect activewear you can actually swim in. It only costs $60.'

There's a special kind of chaos reserved for anyone who lives an active, coastal lifestyle.

Whether it be the dreaded back‑of‑the‑car change — you know the one — half balanced in the back seat, towel spread precariously covering your goods while you pray no one pulls up next to you.

Or an alternative that's arguably worse: heading out for a run down to the beach, catching that first glimpse of the water looking like a damn postcard, and feeling instant regret because you're absolutely NOT swim ready.

As someone who will happily detour for a coastal walk the second the opportunity presents itself, I can confirm I have attempted to swim in regular activewear on multiple occasions. My advice? Just don't.

Nothing screams 'poor life choice' like walking up the sand, weighed down by saggy, waterlogged padding in a bra that now offers the support of a wet paper towel — not cute, nor comfortable.

Cue: Activewear bikinis.

Now, I don't want to exaggerate, but the rise in swim-friendly sports bras from brands like Rockwear, Lorna Jane, Budgy Smuggler etc. feels like a small miracle.

Watch: The team weighs in on the big, 'Do you wear a bra to bed?' debate. Post continues below.

These hybrid tops are a game-changer for anyone who lives between the gym and the ocean. Getting wet doesn't compromise support, and you won't have to worry about any surprise transparency moments — again, not cute.

Plus, they're quick‑drying, so finding yourself in a cold, clingy limbo won't be a concern.

You can run, swim, surf, and sweat till your heart's content in the fabric and it won't sag, stretch, or weigh you down. Can I get a hallelujah?

After giving a few of the below recommendations a try, I'm a huge fan — and honestly, not entirely sure how I survived without them.

So if you, too, are ready to retire the carpark quick-change of shame, and embrace your best active-meets-aquatic lifestyle this summer, these are the beach-proof sports bras worth checking out.
