Abbott claims attacks on his family have been ‘hurtful’.
Tony Abbott has today claimed in an interview on Network Ten that the strong criticisms of his Budget and the way his family life has made headlines has been “hurtful and upsetting”.
“I don’t pretend for a second that people have been cheering in the streets because it’s a tough budget,’’ Mr Abbott said.
“I accept that one of the penalties of being in public life is that you will be unfairly criticised by people who don’t know you.
“I don’t dwell on it…The important thing is to be as protective as you can be for your family but get on with the job and that’s what I’m utterly focused on.”
Obama believes Michelle won’t ever run for office.

When asked in an interview last week how he would feel if she wanted to, Obama said, “Where did you take my wife? I was sure that there had been an alien body-snatching going on. One thing I can promise you is that Michelle will not run for office.”
